Configure Microsoft Outlook 98 for A Cute Internet email

SMTP Auth and SSL

A Cute Internet email may also be configured for SMTP Authentication and SSL encryption for outgoing email. Please note that SMTP Auth and SSL are optional and are not required to use A Cute Internet email.

For further information and setup instructions, see the links below. NOTE: Please configure SMTP Auth or SSL after first configuring your email program for your A Cute Internet email.

  • SMTP Authentication
  • SSL Encryption (outgoing)
  • SSL Encryption (incoming)
  • Click the Tools menu and choose Accounts.

    Click the Add button and choose New Mail Account.

    Enter your full name in the Display name field. Click Next.

    Enter your A Cute Internet Email Address. Click Next.

    The incoming mail server type should be POP3. Enter your mail server names into the Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server boxes. Click Here for the list of A Cute Internet Mail Servers. Click Next.

    Type your email username or A Cute Internet email address in the format of username@ A Cute Internet.net and password in lowercase letters in the POP account name and Password fields. Do NOT check "Log on using Secure Password Authentication." Click Next.

    Next it will ask for a Friendly Name for this account. It should already show the mail server name. Click Next.

    Choose your Connection Type. DSL and Cable users should choose Connect using my Local Area Network (LAN) and click Next. Dialup users should choose Connect using my phone line, on the following screen choose your A Cute Internet dialup connection and click Next.

    On the final screen click Finish. Close the Internet Accounts window to return to Microsoft Outlook.

     


    Help us help you! If you contact A Cute Internet support for assistance please write down any error messages you get when trying to connect to the Internet. Include the name and version of your operating system and the exact text of all error messages. If this information is included in an online case submission or provided to a support representative, it will greatly speed up the troubleshooting process.

    Please be aware that some troubleshooting may require uninstallation and reinstallation of operating system files. To ensure that this type of troubleshooting can be accomplished if required, please be sure that you have to have original Operating System CD or Operating system source files on disk on hand.
