Microsoft Outlook 2000 - Internet Mail Only

SMTP Auth and SSL

A Cute Internet email may also be configured for SMTP Authentication and SSL encryption for outgoing email. Please note that SMTP Auth and SSL are optional and are not required to use A Cute Internet email.

  • This page has instructions for Microsoft Outlook 2000 installed as "Internet Mail Only". If your installation of Microsoft Outlook 2000 is "Corporate or Workgroup", click here for instructions. To find out what installation configuration you have:

    • Click the Help menu.
    • Click About Microsoft Outlook.
    • The second line should be either "Internet Mail Only" or "Corporate or Workgroup".
    • Click OK to return to Microsoft Outlook.

    Open Microsoft Outlook. Click the Tools menu and choose Accounts.

    Click the Add button and choose Mail.

    Enter your name in the Display name field. This is how it will appear when you send email. Click Next.

    Enter your email address and click Next.

    Select POP3 in the first box. Enter your A Cute Internet mail servers into the Incoming and Outgoing mail server fields. Click here for the list of A Cute Internet mail servers. Click Next.

    Enter your email username or A Cute Internet email address in the format of username@ A Cute Internet.net and password into the Account name and Password fields in lowercase letters. Click Next.

    Choose your connection type:

    • If you have a DSL or Cable connection choose Connect using my Local Area Network (LAN) and click Next.
    • If you have a Dialup connection choose Connect using my phone line and click Next. Choose your A Cute Internet connection and click Next.

    Click Finish. Close the Internet Accounts window to return to Microsoft Outlook.

     


    Help us help you! If you contact A Cute Internet support for assistance please write down any error messages you get when trying to connect to the Internet. Include the name and version of your operating system and the exact text of all error messages. If this information is included in an online case submission or provided to a support representative, it will greatly speed up the troubleshooting process.

    Please be aware that some troubleshooting may require uninstallation and reinstallation of operating system files. To ensure that this type of troubleshooting can be accomplished if required, please be sure that you have to have original Operating System CD or Operating system source files on disk on hand.
