Eudora Pro - Multiple Users
See Eudora Tutorial for more information on using personalities.
Eudora Pro can easily be setup for multiple users by creating custom Windows Shortcuts.
Before you begin:
You must create a folder for each user in which to store their Eudora data files. For example if Bob wants to save their mailboxes, settings, and address books into a folder located at C:\Bob\Mail\ - you must create this folder named Mail in the Bob folder on your C: drive. You would also need to create a seperate folder for ever other Eudora user on your computer.
Creating a Shortcut
Right click on your Desktop. Select New and click Shortcut from the menu that appears.
A window similar to the image below should appear. In the Command Line field, enter the path to the Eudora executable. If you don't know the path to your Eudora executable, click the Browse button to find it. Many users will find the path to the Eudora executable to be C:\Program Files\Qualcomm\Eudora\Eudora.exe. Click Next.
You should now be prompted for a name for your shortcut. Enter a descriptive name like "Bob's Email" or your email address. Click Finish, and they new shortcut will be created.
Edit the Shortcut
Find the new Shortcut on your Desktop and right click it. Select Properties from the menu that appears.
First, look at the Target: line. The path statement should point to the Eudora executable (that you defined earlier). Add a space to the end of that line, and add the path statement to the folder that has the data files for this user. In our example below, it's the C:\Bob\Mail folder.
Next, look at the Start in: line. It should point to the folder that Eudora is in. Change it to the path statement of the folder that has the data files for this user. In our example, it's the C:\Bob\Mail folder.
Click OK to save the changes to the new Shortcut. Use this method to create shortcuts for each user.
