Netscape 4.5-4.7 - Multiple Users

The pictures shown in these instructions were taken on a Windows based computer, but the content and instructions will be nearly identical for Macintosh users.

To setup multiple users in Netscape 4.5 you must start the User Profile Manager:

• For Windows, click the Start button. Choose Netscape Communicator, choose Utilities and then click the User Profile Manager.
• For Macintosh, locate the Netscape Communicator Folder on your hard drive. Double click the User Profile Manager icon.

If you have already setup Netscape for one user, their profile will be listed. If necessary, you can rename this profile with a more descriptive name.

Click the New button to create a new profile. Click Next on the first screen that comes up.

Enter your name in the Full Name field. Enter your A Cute Internet email address in the Email Address field. Click Next.

Enter a descriptive name for this Profile. We recommend using a name or email address. If asked for a user directory, we recommend leaving it as the default. Click Next.

Enter your A Cute Internet mail server into the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) server field. Click here for the list of A Cute Internet mail servers.

Enter your email username or A Cute Internet email address in the format of username@ A Cute Internet.net in the Mail server user name field in lowercase letters. Enter your A Cute Internet mail server name into the Incoming Mail Server field. Click here for a list of A Cute Internet Mail Servers. Choose POP3 for the Mail Server type. Click Next.

If you would like to setup Newsgroups, enter your A Cute Internet news server into the News (NNTP) server field. Click here for the list of A Cute Internet News servers.

• For Windows, click Finish to create the new profile.

• For Macintosh, click Next.

  Choose which icons to add to your desktop. These icons will open Netscape with the profile that you are creating. Click Next.

  Optional: Check the box if you wish to Import settings from a different mail program installed on your computer. Click Next.

  Click Done to create the new profile.

After the User Profile Manager finishes, Netscape should open using the new profile. When you open Netscape again, you will be prompted to choose a profile.
